Bali Pictures I: Beach life (with baby)

Posted by Janine and Mikkel

We finally got around to share some pictures with you showing life in wonderful Bali. First theme is 'beach'. We will warn you: It's very simple, very relaxed and very lovely...and somehow there seems to be a baby Mila in every photo...

Lovina: The first 12 days of our trip, we stayed in Lovina, a small cozy fishery town in the north of Bali. What to do there: Hanging out on the black-sanded beach or by the swimming pool playing, sleeping, reading, swimming, getting massages, drinking sundowners... we actually also went to explore the region and set sail to see some dolphins (together with 300 koreans on 99 other boats all going after the poor dolphins). Here are the pics:

Pemuteran: At some point we decided that it would be interesting to move on, so we called 'our driver' and went to Pemuteran a little further west. Beach even nicer, village even quieter and bungalow even closer to the beach:-) Janine's holiday came to an end here. From the pictures you should be able to see that Janine is working VERY hard. Mila continued here exploration of sand and water (including their taste).

Ubud: At some point we decided to move on and left our paradise in Pemuteran for Ubud the cultural hub of Bali in the centre of the island. Mistake #1. This place has NO beach! (therefore, no pictures of Ubud in this episode). Mistake #2. We stayed in a guesthouse without swimming pool! We still havent quite gotten over these major mistakes but luckily there was loads of good healthy organic food, a cool and beautiful dance performance and amazing walks through the ricefields and this almost made up for the lack of beach. When we get to the theme 'culture and ricefield (with baby)' you'll get to see some photos.

Nusa Lembongan: Four days of Ubud and we were longing for the beach which we found at Nusa Lembongan a small island just south of Bali. You guessed it already: Beach even nicer, island even more relaxed and bungalow literally on the beach:-) And this one comes with amazing snorkeling, surfing for beginners and a landlady which is ready to adopt Mila if we would let her. This is where we are now.

Look out for coming posts on: 'Locals (with baby)' and 'Culture and ricefields (with baby)'. And perhaps a special theme on 'Photos without baby'...
